You can visit the main monuments of Segovia in virtual reality

Luckily, every time we can enjoy more professional experiences. One of the most interesting is Virtual Segovia, which from April will allow us to visit the main monuments of the historic city in 360 degrees from the mobile or, better yet, in virtual reality.
Segovia Virtual is a project funded by the Tourist Board of Segovia, which has commissioned the work to the company specialized in 3D digitalization and virtual reality, Sputnik7. He has already carried out some tests, such as the 3D digitalization of the famous Capitoline Loba that Rome gave Segovia in the bimillenary of his famous aqueduct. Press Play to see it. If you have PC glasses and you are using a WebVR-compatible browser (Chrome or Edge, for example), you can also see it in virtual reality.
The first monument in which Sputnik7 is working in the Royal Mint, founded by Philip II in 1583. He has already completely digitized the building using drones and high-resolution DLSR cameras, and now they are working on image processing using RealityCapture and Pix4D photogrammetry software. If all goes well, it will be finished in April.
The virtual version of the Royal Mint of Segovia can be visited from mobile with iOS and Android, but as we have said, the most interesting thing will be to walk inside with the Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest virtual reality glasses. They are also assessing compatibility with HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality.
Once this building is finished, the following will be the Cathedral and the Alcazar of Segovia. Strangely nothing is said of the most famous monument in the city: the aqueduct. Maybe they leave it for last, or maybe they don’t consider it a building, and it is out of the project.
